George Thomas, president of the Education Equal Opportunity Group Inc., presented the 2013 Project Save-A-Student Award to Gov. Bill Haslam on Feb. 13 at the state Capitol.
The award is for the governor’s contributions to improving lives of students in public education across Tennessee.
The EEOG serves 500 public high school students across Tennessee, including Antioch, Halls, Nashville, Memphis, Cookeville, Lebanon, Knoxville, Kingsport, Mt. Juliet, Murfreesboro, Ripley and Somerville.
